Also called ethyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, grain alcohol, ethanol, camphor alcohol, fermentation alcohol among others. Alcohol is a colorless and very flammable, water-miscible liquid, C 2 H 5 OH, has a very strong burning taste and is the intoxicating principle of fermented liquors. It can also be produced by yeast fermentation of certain carbohydrates, grains, molasses, starch, or sugar. Alcohol is used chiefly as a solvent in the extraction of specific substances, in beverages, medicines, organic synthesis, lotions, tonics, colognes, rubbing compounds, as an automobile radiator antifreeze, and as a rocket fuel.

In the beauty world, alcohol can be used to dissolve oil, but also as a moisturizer depending on the type of alcohol you are using. One must be careful when using alcohol in your beauty routine since it may cause dryness and skin irritation. For example, ethanol can increase the permeability of your skin, bringing unwanted impurities.

Any of various organic acids containing both an amino group and a carboxyl group, these are the building blocks that link together to form the proteins necessary to give your skin its structural support.

Perhaps you have heard of collagen or elastin, these are the key to a healthy skin since they are what prolong aging. Skin creams with amino acids such as vitamin E cream, day creams, night creams or fade creams, will help your skin restore the lost amino acids that are destroyed with external toxins brought about by UV light or other environmental poisons.
